When is the right time to sell my business?

Timing is an important factor but is very dependent on shareholder goals because 'what success looks like' will vary between every business and every shareholder. 

Good question! This is very difficult to answer due to the fact that all potential buyers will value a business differently. In our vast experience we have seen offers vary significantly and whilst we can provide our opinion, you won't have the answer to this question until you go to market.

In short, no! It is important to us that you find the right home for the business and that includes structuring a deal that meets your goals. This could be a full 100% sale but with a position within the business post sale or a partial sale to enable you to propel the business forward.

No you don't. We treat confidentiality very seriously as the majority of our clients want to keep a potential sale of their business private. Our process will keep you in control of who is contacted, when and with what information. 

In our experience it takes an average of 12 months from engaging an adviser to signing and completing the deal.  We have completed deals in shorter time frames than this but we will never rush things. Rushing unnecessarily will only end up costing the deal in some shape or form - and ultimately we want to ensure that we protect the maximum value we are achieving.
